WORLD SAKE DAY

Saturday 1st October marks World Sake Day, and what better place to celebrate than Birmingham’s only dedicated sake bar, Shibuya Underground which is right here in the Arcade.

This tiny, 10-seater bar is (as its name suggests) underground and as you descend the steps and emerge through the ‘noren’ curtain you really do feel as though you are entering a bar in Japan.

Experience-based and open via reservations only, the Shibuya Underground team have curated a total of four new tasting menus which launch on Saturday; a cocktail menu, a (non-alcoholic) tea menu, as well as two different sake experiences.

With upcoming events such as a monthly Sake School, Birmingham Sake Society and a special evening with Japanese guest bartender @gento.torigata, Shibuya Underground is definitely worth a visit if you have an interest in other cultures and Japan in particular.
