SAY ‘ALOHA’ TO KUULA POKÉ

SAY ‘ALOHA’ TO KUULA POKÉ

Say ‘aloha’ to Kuula Poké as Birmingham’s first Hawaiian poké bar opens in Great Western Arcade.

Kuula Poké is an exciting, new, fast-casual eatery, set to create an oasis of sunshine in the heart of Birmingham’s business district.

Poké (pronounced poh-kay) is a super-healthy cuisine originating from the far-flung islands of Hawaii, which typically combines sliced fresh fish such as sushi salmon and ahi tuna with sushi rice, fresh salad and tropical fruits.
Adding their own modern twist, Kuula Poké’s chef-inspired signature dishes of Lomi Lomi Salmon, Classic Ahi Tuna, Tahini Miso Chicken and Huli Huli Tofu are a fusion of bright colours, vibrant flavours and nutritious ingredients. Gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian options are always available.

Or you can choose to ‘build-your-own’ poké bowl, choosing from a base of white sushi rice, coconut brown rice and baby salad greens.  Add sustainably sourced prime cuts of diced sushi-grade salmon or ahi tuna, delicately poached chicken breast or vegetarian and vegan choices such as huli huli tofu and smoked hickory carrot.   Choose from a wide range of toppings including sliced tropical fruits such as mango and pineapple, superfood slaw, edamame beans, avocado, vegan coconut ‘bacon’ and the superfood wakame seaweed.  Then, finish with a flourish of crunchy toppings such as crispy shallots and nori (dried seaweed) drizzled with their delicious signature sauces including yuzu ponzu, shoyu, tahini miso or, for added punch, sriracha or wasabi mayo.

Also serving breakfast from 7am, freshly baked croissants and nutritious acai bowls, topped with a range of delicious fruits, sauces and seeds will be the perfect healthy start to the day.

Felicity Whiston, the founder and Managing Director, fell in love with poké whilst working in Los Angeles.  Inspired by the tastes and textures of these delectable island dishes, she spent one year researching poké, travelling first to Hawaii and then to Paris to create and test a range of uniquely flavoured dishes under the auspices of an award-winning poké chef.

Felicity says, “I’m proud and delighted to be opening Birmingham’s first ever Hawaiian poké bar.  Our aim is to help revolutionise Birmingham’s typical lunchtime fare”.

Whether you want poké as a grab-and-go, click-and-collect, eat-in or delivered to your home or business, Kuula Poké promises the finest Hawaiian poké with an ultra-modern twist.

Steve Hewlett from Retail Bid says, “we are looking forward to Kuula Poké opening in Great Western Arcade.  With a truly unique offering, we are sure it will be a great success in the city centre”.

So if you are a fan of clean living and want to enjoy sunshine in a bowl, look out for them on the corner of Great Western Arcade
