JULY 2007
LIVE JAZZ
On 13th and 14th July, the Great Western Arcade became one of the whistlestop venues for the 23rd Birmingham International Jazz Festival. For a two hour stint on each day, the original one man band, Bernard Constant aka L’Homme Orchestre, played from the balcony to shoppers and passers by.
The Parisian musician who plays accordion and drum whilst alternating on two brass instruments was wonderful to watch and listen to as he played his repertoire of tunes including a hypnotic version of Dave Brubeck’s Take 5 to some atmospheric and familiar sounding French songs.
